Our team of mentors specialises in mentoring for law students, providing the support and motivation you need to excel in your journey. Whether you're in Sixth Form or a university student studying law in Birmingham and the Black Country, we are here to help you take the best steps toward success as a future Lawyer.
































Our volunteer mentors are qualified legal practitioners, offering valuable law career guidance to aspiring students. You will have the chance to receive mentoring for law students from a trainee solicitor or qualified associate, solicitor apprentice, barrister, or paralegal.
You can apply to be a mentee on the Tyro Lawyer Scheme if you are aged 16-18 years old and are currently in Sixth Form or college. This mentoring for law students initiative is designed for individuals from all backgrounds who are interested in pursuing an undergraduate law degree in Birmingham and seek guidance for their law career.
You can apply to be a mentee on the Tyro Lawyer Plus Scheme if you are an undergraduate or postgraduate law student in Birmingham or a sixth form student considering a law career. This mentoring programme is run in partnership with Birmingham Black Lawyers and is specifically designed for black students seeking law career guidance.
Join in-person law firm open days, workshops, and social events like the Birmingham Black Lawyers Summer Ball and the Birmingham Solicitors' Group summer party. These activities provide excellent law career guidance and networking opportunities for Sixth form students and undergraduate law students in Birmingham. Additionally, participate in online seminars and workshops that offer valuable mentoring for law students, helping them to connect with professionals in the field as future Lawyers.
