Mentoring for law students
Interested in a career in the legal profession and want to learn more about how to progress? We are a team of mentors ready to encourage, support and motivate you to take the best steps to help you on your journey.
Highly Qualified Mentors
Our volunteer mentors are professionals who are qualified legal practitioners. You will have the opportunity of being mentored by a solicitor, a barrister, a legal executive or a paralegal. We also have trainee legal apprentices who can advise students interested in the legal apprenticeship route.
Tyro Lawyer for Sixth Form and College students
You can apply to be a mentee on the Tyro Lawyer Scheme if you are aged 16- 18 years old and are in 6th form or college. This scheme is open to students from all backgrounds.
Meet our Sixth Form and College Mentors
Tyro Lawyer Plus for university students
You can apply to be a mentee on the Tyro Lawyer Plus Scheme if you an undergraduate in a university in the West Midlands. This scheme is run in partnership with Birmingham Black Lawyers and is open to black students.
Attend in-person and online events
Attend in-person law firm open days, in -person workshops, socials including the Birmingham Black Lawyers Summer Ball and the Birmingham Solicitors' Group summer party, networking events, online seminars and online workshops.
